Nilgiri Estate Dark

Nilgiri Estate Dark coffee beans from the Blue Mountains of Tamil Nadu

About Nilgiri Estate Dark

The Nilgiri hills — the “Blue Mountains” of Tamil Nadu — reach elevations above 1,800 metres, making them one of India’s highest coffee-growing zones. The cool temperatures slow bean development on the tree, concentrating sugars and creating a complexity rarely found at lower altitudes.

Our Nilgiri Estate Dark is a single-estate washed Arabica pushed to a full-city dark roast. The high-altitude origin means the bean retains structure even at darker temperatures: you get the depth and warmth of a dark roast without the bitter harshness of over-roasted lower-altitude beans.
